Joker's Golden Boy aka: Ben 2007 Sabino American Cream Draft stallion ACDHA, ICHR, and SHRI registered
Ben is a lovely medium cream color with amber eyes. Like all American Cream Drafts, Ben is very rare. For more information on this endangered breed, visit the American Cream Draft Horse Association (ACDHA). What makes Ben even more rare is the fact that he is also a minimal sabino! Ben has an outstanding temperament, very calm and easy to handle. He currently stands approximately 16.1 hands tall, but seems to still be growing! Both Ben's sire and dam were tested JEB negative, therefore Ben is also negative for the JEB gene.

We have bred Ben to mares as tall as 16.1+ hands and mares as small as 14.3 hands. Ben is the perfect size for those folks wanting a draft stallion to breed to their smaller mares or for someone wanting to put some flash in their draft stock. Ben is being offered up for stud for the 2011 breeding season. His stud fee is $400.00, which includes a $100.00 booking fee. Mares must have a negative Coggins and a negative vaginal culture. We hand-breed, so all mares must be halter-broke and tolerate standing tied. We reserve the right to refuse vicious, unruly mares or mares that appear to be sick or diseased. Mare care is free as long as you bring your own feed. We do not currently offer shipped semen.

Ben's gorgeous color and confirmation has earned him more than a few admiring glances. Ben is featured alongside another of our American Cream Drafts (Venus) on official American Cream Draft Horse Association t-shirts and stamps! Ben and Venus will also be appearing in a book illustrating the history of color in draft and carriage breeds. The book is called The Equine Tapestry and you can follow author Lesli Kathman's progress here. Here is what the author had to say about our American Creams: "I found your website with the pictures of both your stallion Ben and your mare Venus, and wondered if you would be willing to let me use their photos to illustrate the chapter on American Cream Drafts. I have been contacting breed registries for pictures of current horses ... but when I saw the pictures on your site I was sure I couldn't find more attractive horses." On more than one occasion, Ben has drawn the notice of people driving past the farm. Folks stop by to see him, photograph him, and offer to buy him. Photographs are fine, but this pretty boy isn't for sale. ;)
